Thunderbirds to Perform Flyover for Superbowl 53

The United States Air Force “Thunderbirds” are scheduled to perform the opening flyover for Superbowl 53 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday, February 3, 2019.  The Thunderbirds last performed a Superbowl flyover in 2017 during Superbowl 51 in Houston.

In a game featuring the Rams and the Patriots, many are excited to witness the Superbowl rematch between the teams that occurred seventeen years ago.  The game will be shown on CBS.

The author, United States Air Force retired Brigadier General Carl Buhler is the lead consultant and CEO of Buhler Consulting, LLC which specializes in providing consulting services for aircraft maintenance, supply, technology, logistics and production.  Brig Gen (ret) Buhler enjoys attending airshows and while serving as a Captain, was a member of the US Air Force “Thunderbirds,” serving as the team’s maintenance officer.
